You will see how we live and have lived for generations. Our home offers history and art, and you will meet our furry friends, dogs Netta and Hertta, who join us on almost every activity.

No matter the weather, the trip takes place — just like our life here, always depending on nature. We guide you through the local way of ice fishing, and no previous experience is needed. If you feel competitive, we can even organize a friendly fishing competition!

More Than Just Fishing
In addition to ice fishing, you have the chance to enjoy the best of the Finnish winter:
Go sledding or try a kicksled.
Test your skills with cross-country forest skis.
Enjoy a short, traditional snowmobile sleigh ride.
Warmth at the Lakeside Hut (Kota)
At the lakeshore hut, a fire is burning throughout the trip to ensure you stay warm. We provide hot drinks, local pastries, and sausages for grilling — all included in the experience. You can also browse and purchase local handicrafts.
Your Program for the Day
A Guided Arctic Experience
Welcome Greeting: Presentation of the historic Old Village Store.
Safety First: Before heading to the ice, we check safety protocols and give instructions for safe movement.
To the Lake: The fishing spot is just 100 meters away, reached by a short walk downhill.
The Fishing Session: Spend approx. 1.5 hours on the ice. Your hostess Virve (or another local) will transport the equipment and dogs by snowmobile.
Equipment and Services Included
We make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable trip:
Gear: Fishing rods, bait, ready-drilled holes, and fishing stools with reindeer hides.
Guidance: Full instructions and a local assistant throughout the trip.
Catering: Access to the hut, open fire, hot drinks, pastries, and sausages.

Rates and Availability
Availability: December 1st – April 30th.
2–4 persons: €189 per person
5–16 persons: €149 per person
16–> persons: Ask for a quote (virve@feelispalvelut.fi)
Private bookings and transportation are available for an extra fee.
Safety and Weather Restrictions
The trip is suitable for all ages who can walk independently (100 m distance). Please note:
Cold Limit: The trip is not organized if the temperature falls below -25°C or during strong winds to prevent frostbite.
Ice Safety: In early and late seasons, ice thickness is checked individually. If fishing is impossible, we arrange alternative activities.
Required Gear: You must wear warm winter clothing (hat, gloves, warm footwear).
